About Cathy McCullum Carter
Cathy McCullum Carter, a native of
Vossburg, MS, taught U.S. History beginning at Gloster High School, and continuing at Amite County High School, until her retirement in 1994. During her teaching career, she was named Star Teacher on four occasions and also served as a sponsor of the National Beta Club. Mrs. Carter received a B.A. degree from Alcorn A&M College, a M.A. degree in Social Science from Southern University, and an Education Specialist degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Carter was the daughter of Ira and Mary Lee McCullum. Ira McCullum was the principal at Southside High School in Heidelberg, MS, from the late 1950s to 1969. She was married to John Carter, a former U.S. Government and Economics teacher at Gloster High School and Amite County High School. |
